Austin Energy: Powering Austin's Clean Energy Future

About this event

Note: This is a community event not affiliated with LWVAA.

The Austin City Council unanimously approved Austin Energy’s Resource, Generation and Climate Protection Plan to 2035, which is a strategic pathway to meet Austin’s rising energy needs. This plan was drafted with community input and is guided by the core values of reliability, affordability, environmental sustainability, and energy equity. Austin Energy is evaluating options to strengthen local reliability in the face of current challenges while continuing progress toward Austin’s clean energy goals.

Austin Energy is hosting a series of Energy Reliability Workshops across Austin, and you and members of your community are invited to participate. These workshops will provide an overview of how Austin Energy is implementing the 2035 Plan, discuss locations of potential energy resource and generation options across Austin, and invite residents to share what matters most them and their communities.
