Biography

I am passionate about democracy and I love making sure voters are informed about elections and the importance of who they are voting for!

I am a first-generation Mexican-American who is bilingual as well. I am also a first-generation college graduate with an environmental science related degree.

I came to Austin to help learn and advocate for education, and general advocacy as everyone deserves a voice.

With that, I find it a great privilege to be an American as we are filled with opportunities and finding optimism with what we can.

In my free time, I enjoy playing the piano, crafting, drawing with the medium of oil pastels, blogging and researching journalists. My personality ranges from being an active listener, not being afraid of speaking in front of a crowd of thousands, being genuine, and wanting to take action.

I am also a Texas Tech Alumni! Wreck 'em.

Political Background

  • I have worked in the Texas House of Representatives as a staffer and worked on special sessions. I was the lead of constituent cases and was involved with district duties during the interim.
  • Worked for a lobbyist for almost two years. Helping with reading agendas and research on local to state topics for California and/or Texas.
  • I have volunteered with Citizens Climate Lobby in the past. But have found more of an interest in working with the general works of democracy after leaving the Texas State of Reps. This showed me the importance of local democracy.
  • I currently work in adjacent to state politics related to water conservation issues, but heavily working with improving water infrastructure in Texas.
