Register to Vote In Texas You Must

• be a U.S. citizen
• be a resident of the county
• be 18 years old (you may register at 17 years and 10 months)
• not a convicted felon (unless a person's sentence is completed, including any probation or parole)
• not declared mentally incapacitated by a court of law

5 Ways to Register in the County Where You Live

• Register to vote with a Volunteer Deputy Registrar (VDR) at a voter registration event.
• Register in person at your county Voter Registrars Office.
• Pick up and complete a voter registration application at a library, post office, driver's license office, high school or your county Voter Registrars office.
• Note - Not recommended close to the "Register by" date.
  •  Fill out a voter registration application.  Print, sign, and mail it to your county Voter Registrars Office. 
  • Have a voter registration application mailed to you in English or Spanish.

3 Ways to Update Your Voter Registration

Update you registration if you've moved or changed your name.

• Update your voter registration online.
• Correct your information on the back of your voter registration card and mail it back to your county's Voter Registrar.
• Fill out a new voter registration application.
